Lisa Gates, CPCC

Life Balance and Accountability Coach

From moms to CEOs, most people come to coaching with me craving balance and passionate about truing up their vision with their values. As people become fluent in creating the fundamental shifts they seek, they often find themselves in more leaderful roles and public settings, where cultivating leadership presence and performance takes center stage. So we improvise and deepen. We might toss in a sonnet or a monolog to stretch and bring strength to the speaking voice, or we might explore your personal narrative to develop expressiveness and connection with those who follow you. No matter what route we take, it's always tailored to your needs and wishes. What's important to me, and what drives me forward is a passion for helping clients connect and collaborate, to invest in being and doing in equal measure, and to feel in the bones a sense of balance, power and peace.

My life experience ranges from actress to freelance writer, as well as management roles for membership associations and nonprofits, and event design for PR and marketing firms. Dovetailing this experience with coaching my practice reveals a skill for helping people find and express their natural leadership, big sky brainstorming to develop and organize big ideas and creative projects, and relentlessly connecting passion with purpose.

Lisa received a BA in Dramatic Arts from UC Santa Barbara, and studied journalism at Humboldt State University and earned her CPCC in coaching from The Coaches Training Institute.

"Lisa Gates has not only helped me come out and face who I am and what I really want to do with my life, but she also reached into the very core of my being in order to bring me back into the reality of my dreams. Her talk is real and her methods concise. I wouldn't be where I am now if it wasn't for her innate ability to fast forward me to that next step, the larger leap towards being true to myself. I no longer doubt what it is I want to do...instead I speak, write, and live, knowing exactly why I do what I do yet, realizing that the goals I have set for myself are entirely up to me and attainable."
